Yup, I just got my catalog as well yesterday and I noticed they no longer have the #16 listed in their 2006 catalog. It was in the 2005 but not in this new one.

Just checked for the heck of it if it was still on their website and sure enough it is....and it's on SALE !!!....$7.49 a can...I bought two more, one to give to a friend who's BMW i used it on a month ago and he loved it, and one to keep !!!....28 bucks for two cans...even with the 10.95 shipping, still a great deal....

Whoa! That sucker must be heavy! No wonder their shipping is so pricey! BUT even at that, the sole idea that it's still available more than makes up for it!

will the stores have it in stock or does the online ordering come from a different warehouse/location?
I asked, because there are quite a few stores in the So. Cal area.
I guess I can call them up.

I think you are only going to be able to get them by ordering them online where they stock them through a particular warehouse. But I could be wrong.

I also went back on West Marine yesterday and saw the great sale that they were having on them and had to order two more cans as well. For $27 shipped I coudn't pass that up when before it had cost about $42 shipped through West Marine before the cans went on sale!!!!!

Update: #16 is no longer carried on West Marine's website.

I feel lucky I got my two cans in time.

Guys, guess what came from the Fed-ex truck this morning...

3 blue cans from West Marine

Can't wait to try it out tomorrow, except for the fact that it is time to clay. The paint is looking ok right now, as i used colorx via my pc about one month ago. I'll try my best to get some pics when through.

BTW, should i just use a foam applicator for #16????

                    Thanks

Looks like I just squeeked in at West Marine's site too then! And I finally had a chance to test this stuff today on my '99 Emerald Mica (Dark Green Metallic) Mazda Miata. I just did the hood and deck lid before lunch and noticed this reflection in the hood while parked in my garage. Notice my beautifully finished garage ceiling - NOT! The only light for this was from the open garage door, and this is shot standing in front of the car looking down on the hood. There is a prominent bulge in the Miata hood, hence the distortion in the image.

Oh, and removing #16 may not be the easiest process in the world, but it certainly is not what I'd call difficult. I also noticed that my 4" pads for the PC will fit in the can, so I think I'll try applying it that way to the rest of the car later. I seem to be able to get a more uniform and thinner layer applying by machine.

For what it's worth, this application of #16 sits atop a coat of NXT from two weeks ago.

Sorry, I was unable to borrow a camera for today's "quick detail".

I first washed the truck with deep crystal wash concentrate. Then I dried using a waffle-weave microfiber, and went on to clay the paint using the quik clay product.

I was pretty pressed for time today (as usual), but was able to use Mothers sealer/glaze prior to applying the #16. I find this product to be great for when you are in a pinch for time, as it seems to hide scratches pretty well. I do not prefer the appearance of this product alone to a product such as colorx, but I was going to top it with #16 anyways. Also, the sealer in this product was just icing on the cake in terms of protection, which I need very much now when at college.

After removing the mothers sealer/glaze, I then applied the #16 using a chenille applicator. This working very well as in fit in the can almost perfectly...all you have to do is rotate twice to get the perfect amount. After checking to make sure the wax was ready to be removed by touching it with my index finger, I was able to remove the wax fairly easily, to my surprise.

The verdict: if you have a paint that is even remotely dark, purchase this wax while you can. It was still available on the european meguiars site the last time I checked, so this product is still out there somewhere. Locating it is the only problem.

As I said earlier, this wax was removed easily. Not as easily as nxt, but it really didn't require that much more effort. It does, however, require more attention to detail. You really need to keep your microfiber rotated, and make sure you use a well lit area for the application of this wax. This wax, to me, is a great Saturday evening wax, and I really enjoyed my first experience with it.

Luckily for me, I ordered 3 cans from west marine, so I should have enough to last me for a while.

Just tried #16 for the first time on my Prelude. Application was very easy, I applied it thin and for the most part it buffed off easily. I did have to use some elbow grease in certain areas when buffing, but in all honesty, this is not a very difficult wax to use. A quick wipe down with some QD will take care of any missed spots.

I will say this, however: based on the amount of wax I used for my car, I have a feeling that this can of #16 will last me for the next 10 years! I mean, for those of you who stocked up....I think you'll be ok.

Two cans are good enough for me.

I went back to college today, and when I arrived, it was time to go to church. So I went to pick up a friend of mine who has a digital camera, and he was kind enough to snap some pics real quick right before we went in to church (I know, taking truck pics out in the parking lot is pretty funny).

I had driven two hours back to lexington ky when I took these pics. There is dust, and a few scratches evident. The procedure of yesterday's quick detail are listed two posts up.

These results are outstanding, in my opinion. The gloss and clarity exceeded my expectations, and the product was surprisingly easy to use. I think one more coat would really help even everything out, and i really need to get a couple higher quality microfibers for the final wipe.

I plan on doing a much more extensive detail during spring break, which is mid-march for us. My plans for then are 83 and 80 using the 8006 pads, maybe 7 using a 9006 pad, and 1 coat each of nxt and 16, using 16 as the topper.

I also need to do something about my tonneau cover. Will #39 clean a tonneau cover very well? Is there a better product to use in this case. Also, is ASD a good product for this, or should I stick with natural shine. My two problems with the cover are: 1. it is just really dirty & 2. I never seem to be able to get the natural shine looking even. One reason for this is the cover itself. It is not like a extang cover, not as smooth. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

So, what do you guys think??? Any comments or suggestions are, as always, highly appreciated.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to give props to the.....
