Quick,easy durable one -step wax?

Guys,

I want to do a quick, easy and durable one step on my black Hemi sometime this weekend. It has had numerous coats of NXT over the last several months. The last application was about two months ago. It has some minor micromarring from less than perfect winter washing condtions using the coin-op followed by a QEW wash.

I plan to pick up one of the following tomorrow morning -- Meguiars cleaner/wax (burgandy bottle), ColorX, or #6.

I'll been applying "whatever" with a pc and removing the residue by hand with microfiber polishing cloths.

Any suggestions?

You might like #66, if you could get it, as it is more agressive to remove swirls.

But, out of those 3, I am not sure whether ColorX or #6 would be better by PC.

I've always been happy with the Consumer Cleaner Wax as a "one stepper". I use it often for "quickie" details for friends and I've been getting around two months (give or take) of protection on my work van. Of course, YMMV....

OK, I have the ColorX. I had to go to go to three auto parts stores to find it. I plan to use it this weekend on my black Hemi. From what I have read, it might be just the product I need.

My three-year-old Hemi has 77,000 miles on it. Ten miles daily on gravel roads. I think that it qualifies as a daily driver, not a show truck.

For the pasty two years I have used NXT exclusively. Most of the time wihout using a polish prior to the NXT. The NXT has done an adequate job of cleaning the surface and filling minor marring, but I think that ColorX might do a better job.

The big question: How often can I safely use ColorX. I usually wax my vehicles every four to six weeks. Are the abrassives in ColorX similar to #9, #80 or #82?

I plan to apply ColorX with my PC set at 5 and a polishing pad. Is this about right?

I'd say the abrasives might be somewhere around #80. Have you used #80 so far? ColorX will probably break down a little sooner than #80/#82 will.

If ColorX removes your swirls, you can always apply it with a finishing pad in the future, to make it even milder.

Your speed sounds about right.

You can always top the ColorX with Nxt if you are in a waxing mood.... but that defeats the one-step a bit...

I tried ColorX for the first time last fall and was amazed at how smooth the paint felt when I was done! I detailed my Jeep CG last October w/ ColorX topped w/ NXT and it still beads water! I applied w/ PC, polishing pad, speed set at 4.
