  • Pads for PC

I got my PC a little over a year ago and when I got it I got the 6" hook and loop backing plate and counter weight with it. I got 1 each of Lake Country Pads.

Well I want to try some new pads and was wandering will the Megs M9006, M8006, M7006 pads work with the standard Porter Cable 6" hook and loop backing plate with there 6" counter weight or do I need to get the backing plate and stuff from Meguiars to get these pads to work with a pc or are these pads not for a pc?

Indeed, they will work with the standard PC hook and loop backing plate however, I would recommend going ahead and getting the Meguiar's backing plate as it is the exact size of the hook and loop discs that are on the back of the pads. Also, your standard counterweight will be more than adequate! I'm using the same one myself!

I love Meguiar's products and pads but, I was wondering how do Lake Country's Pad's compare to Meguiar's Pad's? And which brand do you pefer? Which line was used? (curved edge..etc) (for PC & Rotary- if been used).

      Thanks!

If you are looking to purchase a backing plate and pads, please fill free to give me a call and I can get you a backing plate and three pads for $32.95. If you purchase them separately it's going to cost you $18.99 just for the backing plate and approx. $11 per pad.

Just a reminder Meguiar's doesn't recommend using their w7006 pad with the PC.

Well, it is used... just with a microfiber bonnet over it, to remove wax. 8-)

I guess I should have been more specific; Meguiar's does not recommend using such pad to remove paint defects as the pad was not designed to do so when used with a PC, you may however use it to remove wax... etc. with a MF bonnet over such pad(w7006). Just trying to help

pad marron w7006 can be used with the PC and MF bonnet to remove wax. But also can be used with RB for remove paint defects is not true ?

You are correct the maroon pad w7006 may be used with a rotary to do work i.e. (remove paint defects). It just technically wasn't meant to be used for such a purpose with the D.A. Polisher. I hope this clears the confusion...Funny, I feel Deja Vu all of a sudden.

Just to add to Brian's comment... the W-7006/7000 Cutting Pad was designed for use with the rotary buffer. I use it quite often with rotary, and M84 Compound Power Cleaner; an awesome combination for serious defect removal!

I realized the W-7006 was not a good choice for my PC when I tried it with some #83 on my 1/4 panel.
Good thing I was quick to grab some more #83 with my W-8006 Polishing pad.
