  • Glass Cleaning & Detailing in General

    Hi There,

I just bought a '97 Grand Am GT which is black on black...yes we all know black shows all and gets dirty an hour after a wash, but man does it look good.

In washing the car and getting a real close look at it, what I thought was water marks from the car lot wash seems to be an overspray of some sort or, it actually looks like a quick sand blast was done on the front windshield. Looking today, I notice the same with the paint.

I use a line up of Meguiar's product on my project car for shows(rebuilding a '86 Fiero Fastback GT with red paint), and clay made the difference.

Would it be suggested I try clay on the glass first or a product that may do the job. It's not sap or acid rain, and it's not deep, so any suggestions would be appriciated.

    Thanks

You can definately clay glass, and I would recomend it.

If that doesnt help, you can try this:

Thanks for the reply...if the clay does not work, from the link you sent, I may have to take it to a detail shop if it's actual sand markings...or replace the window...hope the paint come clean.

If there are sanding marks or scratches in the glass you will have to replace the glass. Do a search on our forum using the word,
