Hey! Great forum here... have a few questions....

1) Is it ok to use QD (as opposed to NXT SD) over NXT Tech wax?

2) Is it wise to QD after a weekly wash to prolong the wax protection and add slickness? or does it provide limited benefits for a clean car and increase the chance of marring the paint?

3) Are Ultimate Wipe detailing cloths the best to use when applying & removing QD or should I opt for a thicker pile MF towel?

4) When removing NXT Tech wax using Ultimate Wipe detailing cloths (flipping / refolding / etc), how do you know when to change to a new towel? And... how many are typically required to remove the wax from your average car?

Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

1) Yes.

2) Kind of. After you wash your car, a quick detailer will generally make the paint look better by adding gloss and slickness. If you want protection, then after washing and drying, try using a spray wax instead.

3) Our Ultimate Wipe polishing cloths are not as plush as our Supreme Shine Microfiber polishing cloths but they still were very well for applying and removing quick detailers. (I use them).

4) Depends on how large your car is, but it's a good idea to have at least a half a dozen microfiber polishing cloths on hand to use as needed. To tell you the truth, I've never really counted how many I use because I always have more than I need. The last thing you want to do is find yourself in a position where you're using questionable polishing cloths, (because they're dirty of too full of removed product), to use on your car's finish.

When removing wax, how do I know when to change towels??

i don't know how to discribe it but its when the the towels preformance isn't as good as when you started wiping. Just quarter the towels so you can just flip it when even you need a clean side
