I'd replace the Deep Crystal Cleaner with Medallion Premium Paint Cleaner (MPPC), and swap out the #7 with #81 Professional Hand Polish.

Those products, in that order, will produce excellent results. Be sure to use a separate, clean foam applicator pad for each of the products, don't cross-contaminate products across applicator pads.

jfelbab's recommendations are valid also. The Medallion Premium Paint cleaner is a more aggressive paint cleaner than the Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner.

The #81 Hand Polish is an excellent product for clear coats and comes in a quart size bottle. #7 is a great polish but can sometimes be a little difficult to work with on clear coats.

The Deep Crystal Paint Polish, (Step-2), is also a great hand applied polish for clear coats and probably easier to find at your local auto parts stores.

i wanted to find a different cleaner, but i had the deep crystal at home, and the only other one i found was the #2 at checker (wanted to do everything by hand this time so i didn't buy it).

the #7 seemed to work fine for me. i might try the #81 next time around if can find it. i used to use the DC 3 phase system and I believe I got better results out of the #7 then of the #2 polish in the DC system.

nxt.......this was the first time i've used it on my car .........and i definately approve.

overall......i'm pretty happy with the results........but like i said before, my paint seems to be in pretty good condition (maintained quite often), so i didn't see any DRASTIC results.

          Sorry, couldn't resist!

Anyways, that does look like a good combination.
          Hope this helps!

I can't say I have some actual results from that set of products.

As for my routine now, its gold class shampoo, quick clay, #83, #81, nxt.

              Hey zzzzzeke

              Nice car!!

May I suggest adding #82 Swirl Free Polish between the #83 and the #81. Though not always necessary after using #83 on a lighter color, I have found that #82 will still add a little more depth and refinement. On a lighter colored car, the #82 will help out with a little more gloss as well.

              Just IMHO!

I own #82 also, but haven't ordered more pads for the PC yet. It will be used in the future for sure.

Cool! One trick I like to use, is using a W-9006 Finishing Pad with the #82. It tends to really refine the finish!

Ah man! I just bought a bottle of #7. Haven't tried it yet. I was waiting for a weekend when I wasn't busy to work on the Volvo. Maybe I'll try slowing down the PC with the #7 and see if that works okay.

                    Any othe advice Mike?

                      Hey,

Meguiar's #7 Show Car Glaze works excellent with BC/CC; it is just a little more difficult to remove compared to #81 Hand Polish. Just apply with the PC set to speed 3 with nice over-lapping passes. I prefer to do one section at a time and then remove with a MF towel. Apply the product very thinly. Moreover, there is no need to really work it in; just apply it evenly and remove.

                      It will be awesome!

                        Awesome! Thanks!

I just read Mike's reply to a post on Autopia (link). Seems the biggest problem was people were letting it dry and putting it on too thick.

I was planning on giving it a shot regardless. Thanks again!
