Yep, its official i am crazy about waxing. lol

Question is. Is it OK to polish and wax a lawn mower? I have a 7yr old hand-me-down mower and would like to bring out the red more. Any tips??

I see a lot of posts about people trying out their techniques on waxing their mowers and washing machines!

I haven't waxed mine yet, but it's on the list of things to do...

It is probably a single stage paint so you need to buff it with a rotary buffer and cutting pad and some 800 grit compound followed by a buffer with a polishing pad and a swirl remover/polish and then wax or paint seal it.

Nothing unique about the paint on a lawnmower. I have waxed mine to keep it from oxidizing which is typical of a single stage paint as the pigments are not protected from the sun's UV rays.

Polishing the lawnmower isn't the trick, finding a tire dressing that won't attract grass clippings....now that's tricky!!

Wow, it's nice to see that I'm not crazy. I just fixed my riding tractor last week and detailed it. It looks real good. I applies ScratchX by hand followed by NXT Liquid. It looked good but needed more. I broke out my PC and used #80 followed by (2) coats of #20 Polymer Sealant. I used Endurance on the Tires. I did notice that even by hand, I was getting some paint on the applicator. ust a light green (Craftsman) color. I like to keep it looking nice plus I really wanted to detail something. Ya, if your having fun, buff away!
