  • Observations and a question

Hi everyone. I am a newb I admit. I have been going over the forum topics with a clay bar finding every last bit of info needed to get a great looking finish. I have gained valuable info on detailing the outside of my black Bullitt. Thanks Mike, Murr, SVT and others.

After Wash, clay, wash I went over the car with 80 and 8006. I was sceptical about the preasure applied to my PC7337 when applying 80 and went over the car kinda light. My observation to this post
http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/sho...0&pagenumber=1 is when I apply that much presure the head does not turn much but man it does the job. I still have some scratches but 83 is on the way so hopefully this weekend I can finsh.

The question I have is I went over the car with 80 and then went out of town for a couple of days and the car is dusty (really dusty). Can I wash and go straight to 7 or do I start over or do I wipe down with QD.

    What I plan is
    Wash Gold Class
    Clay
    Wash
    80
    7
    NXT

Just wash, then proceed with #7 and then your wax.

Just to make sure, you did clay prior to #80, right?

Also, how about some pics of the 'stang

Well, dont thank me, I learned from everyone else on here...

But the QD sprays are for light dust only. If you have been driving around for a few days, then definately wash.

Once washed, if you surface feels/looks good, then you can use #7 and wax.

Naturaly, your best results would be to get some wax on there before driving around for days, for the protection and to make the dust come off easier, but those sort of things happen.

Thanks for the reply guys. Had to go out of town again. GEEZ. I have not driven my car since applying 80. And I did clay after washing. I take it by the replys I can wash after 80 to get rid of the dust and go straight to 7. Hopefully pics up next weekend.

          Thanks again

Well, this is going to be an opinion, but:

#80 has a protective polymer in it, so it is a little more durable than other polishes. But I think washing would probably remove it and any polishing oils left.

So following up with #7 would be a good idea to put the polishing oils back, and then waxing after is good to seal in the results this time.
