Getting an itch for a rotory. Looked at Dewalt, Makita. I ran across this animal
Hitachi SP18VA.
Opinions please.

Yep, have and love it! It's *very* comparable to the Makita for a lower price if you shop carefully and a much longer warranty. I got mine for about $130 shipped and you can too if you look around.

I have/had the porter cable one and its pretty good minus the weight. Note:if you run it over with a jeep, it won't work anymore

I have both the Makita and the Hitachi. Both are comparable in weight, dimension and performance. The upside of the Hitachi is that it is less expensive than the Makita, and has a better warranty as Spoiledman eluded to.
