  • 1-2-3 DC Step and #20 ???

    I've been using the 1-2-3 DC system by hand for a long time. I stepped up and got a PC not too long ago and have been reading and reading and reading on detailing forums as hard as I can for months. It's almost become an obsession! SO much to learn, ya know?!

    I was at a BigLots store recently and was looking through their car care isle and spotted a bottle of #20 Polymer Sealant for $4.99! I didn't exactly know what I'd do with it. But, it was a steal, so I got it!

    So, now that I have this bottle of #20, what the heck do I do with it?! LOL Can I use it in my 1-2-3 DC method? If yes, when do I apply it during the 1-2-3 steps?

    Many thanks for any wisdoms!

    My guess would be to use it after DC #2. That way the car is now polished. You then seal it with #20 and then you wax on top. I could be wrong though. Wait for the pros to chime in

      DC#1 -> #2 -> #20 would be the way to do that.

      But #80 -> #20 would probably yield better results by PC.

        I agree....when you've depleted your 1-2-3 DC products, or close to, pick up some #80, you'll love it. And that #20 is great stuff, you got a heck of deal!

          Can the DC 1,2,3 system be applied with the PC?

          I used to use this system by hand too before I found out about the PC.

          So I have three nearly full bottles in my supply. Im not interested in using it on my vehicles, because I have 83,80,and NXT that I use, however, when polishing friends and family's cars, I dont want to use up my good stuff right away, so it would be nice to use the rest of the 1,2,3 system first. Is that possible?

            It is possible, but you have to remember the DC products were designed to be used and break down by hand, so they may gum up, or dry out, etc a lot easier/quicker when working with them.

              Just to chime in...

              All three of these products are formulated to be applied by hand, dual action polisher, (G100/PC), or by using a traditional Orbital Buffer.

                    Please explain what you mean. I plan on using DC 1 and 2 with a PC. Is this a mistake?

                      No mistake. I was satisfied with the results and so was my dad. He was soo satisfied that he no longer wants to sell the car. Basically I didnt even know how to use the PC and I was still able to detail the car. I didnt even know that I could change speeds. It was after that I looked up a few videos that showed me the proper way of using the PC.

Hoping that it comes in on or before Saturday because I want to detail on Sunday and Monday. Didnt order anything else because...well...I dont feel Im ready. I want to take it slow and learn everything right.
