  • Hyper-Dressing on exterior trim looks weird after a day

I tried Hyperdressing on my mirrors, trim pieces, and rubber gasketing. After sitting outside for a day, or especially after getting wet even a little bit, it seems to look very patchy/spotted. If you wipe it around with a rag, it seems to smooth out again but then repeats.

Is there a better dressing for exterior surfaces? ASD?

I've never used ASD, but the Hyperdressing is awesome under the hood. Now I just want something that lasts longer and looks better on the exterior.

    Thanks.

I use ASD for my exterior trim bits, and it looks good almost everywhere. But I have some weird rubbery/plasticy trim below my windows and attatched to the mirror, and it kind of gets the same effect. I dont know what can be done about it.

Yes I had the same problem with Hyper dressing
Polished the wagon then used H/D on all the trim ,It rained 2 days later and you could see where the H/D had run down the paint work
Also find it makes the white paint run on my tyres (the writing)

I use trim detailer in liquid form and a lot of elbow greese.

I use ASD under the hood and on all exterior trim including door gaskets.. Worked out great and didnt come off till I drove in the rain a few times and washed it..

HyperDressing is a water based product and you will get this reaction after the surface gets wet. It is a fine product but you will have to maintain the areas in question more often than if you use ASD. I use the HyperDressing for my tires and ASD on everything else. One of the benefits of Hyperdressing is that you can get different degrees of gloss depending how you dilute the product.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to order some ASD and give it a try.
