Here's an interesting test, works best on black paint because the results well be so easy for your eyes to see. Clean the hood, as is wash, clay and use a paint cleaner to strip any wax off the hood of your car, truck or s.u.v.
Next, tape of 2 square areas about 8" to 12" inches square and then pick any two waxes or paint protectants and apply one to one square section and the other to the other square section following the manufactures directions.
After removing the dried products and then removing the tape, (carefully removing the tape), now watch and document over time where the dust accumulates. Not sure why this happens, but it does happen and it happens with any wax or paint protectant.

Re: Meguiar's = dust or am i doing somthing wrong
I remember a long ago on a show car the guy had a wire that was connected to the frame and touched the ground. The idea behind that was so the car would be grounded to dissipate and static charge so dust wouldn't stick. I've always wondered if that really did any good or not. I could see rubbing that car with a towel would building up a slight static charge, but that would spread out evenly over the entire car. So dust wouldn't just stick to the areas worked. Just thinking out loud.Scott

I have found MPPP (no longer manufactured but may be available at dealers) attracts less dust over time than other LSPs due to its anti-static properties.
