  • A Specific Wax and Orange Peel Question

I painted my car at home about 5 months ago, using most of the right methods, and a single stage metallic paint. The finished product was acceptable. There is, however, excessive orange peel in the finish. I waxed, however when the wax dried it left cloudy spots in the low spots of the orange peel. My car now has a cloudy finish in the places where the orange peel was most severe. My question is, what method(s) should I use to remove the wax from the car?

If this question is posted somewhere else, I'm sorry I couldn't find it.
I will try to get the type of wax and any other needed information on here ASAP.

    Thanks!

Must be some deep orange peel?

Rub the paint down with either a paint cleaner like ScratchX or a cleaner/polish like M80 Speed Glaze with either a foam applicator pad or a microfiber applicator pad and remove as you go, this should liquefy and remove any residual wax.

Thank you VERY much. Sorry I couldn't get on earlier. I will try one or both of those methods and be sure to post the results.

And yes, the orange peel was quite deep but only in the spots where the compressor could not keep up.

You didnt mention, but you will have to sand off that orangepeel of course, or any wax will just do the same thing over again.

I think this is a one wax job vehicle. It's already had it's wax job for this paint finish.
