Changing to Meguiar's. How's this plan?

Hi all. I'm a noob and I currently have some Mother's products on my car. It looks great but I would like to try NXT but I'm not sure as to how to go about it.

2 weeks ago I clayed, cleaned the paint, glazed and then put on wax (all mother's). What I would like to know is what should I do to prep for trying
NXT? Do I need to use a paint cleaner again? Could I just apply NXT on
top of what I have? Could someone point me in the right direction?
I don't own a PC yet so I will be doing everything by hand.

Well, are you happy with the Mothers clay, and cleaner, polish? Does the paint feel smooth, no bumps, look good to you?

If so, then you can give a good wash, and apply the Nxt.

If you think you can do better, or want to try, then you can do a few things.

The fastest would be to:
1. Wash
2. Clay if needed at all
3. ColorX
4. Nxt wax

Now, if you wanted to do a complete detail, you would be looking at:

1. Wash
2. Clay if needed
3. Clean - ScratchX for swirled areas, Deep Crystal #1 for the rest.
4. Polish - Deep Crystal #2
5. Wax - Nxt wax, remember Meguiars recomends 2 coats of wax.

Thanks for the help everyone.

I think my paint is in pretty good condition I think so I'll try the quick way first. This week I have no work so I can play with my toys (products) all week. hehe.

I'll post some before and after pics when I'm done so everyone can see the difference in the 2 treatments.

If my paint is in good condition with some light swirling would colorx be too aggressive? Is colorX ok to use say every month? I have a very red 2003 bmw 325i. Please excuse the newbie questions. I'm still learning all of this stuff and the wide variety of Meguiars products is overwhelming. I don't have all the numbers down yet.

ColorX wouldn't be too aggressive; it would be fine to use every month. It's a great product when you don't have time/don't need to do the whole 5 step process.

There isn't anything wrong with newbie questions; we were all newbies at one time (I still am!).
