  • Washing waffle weave microfber towels

I finally gave in and washed my waffle weave microfiber drying towels with some cotton towels. It appears to have worked just fine. What's the big deal about washing microfiber alone.

Microfiber towels trap the particles inside the fibers. So if you mix the load with let's say a dirty terry cloth towel, the MF fibers will pick up the stray lint during the wash. I just make sure to batch up my MF's and always wash them separately. I never put them in the dryer for that same reason - the potential of picking up lint in the dryer. I just let it air dry.

I agree with all of this except in the case of waffle weave MF towels. When I first started using MF towels I tossed a few of them in with a couple of terry towels, and the terry lint was all over the regular issue MF pieces but not really a problem with the waffle weaves. The construction and finish of the WW is definitely different and didn't seem to be as "clingy" as the standard MFs were. But, since I separate my MF and terry anyway, the WWs go with the other MFs.
