  • Detailing My Friend's Celica Tomorrow....Need Help Please..

Okay, so my friend's Celica is gonna be detailed tomorrow by me...it's a 5g and has scratches, swirls, dirt, everything on it.

My question is what do I need to do first? This is what I'm planning on doing.

    1) Wash with Gold Class
    2) Clay
    3) Scratch X by hand using foam applicator pad
    4) Color X by hand using foam applicator pad
    5) Gold Class Wax

Is that a good way? I'm iffy about the applicator pads..see I don't have a buffer and I dunno what to get off the shelf. I can ONLY get stuff of the shelf...lol.

Thats a great start, but to do that all yourself in one day will be a handfull. You can look at the "Tip to beginers" thread to see some thoughts on that.....

Get your friend to help you, or do part one day part another.

Nonetheless, that is a process that will be very succesfull, as long as you work both the ScrathchX and ColorX in well.

I would seriously consider doing it over two days. After you finish using ScratchX by hand you will understand why

When using ScratchX, I found using a terry towel worked better for me, it seemed to have a bit more bite than a foam applicator pad.

And as Murr said, " Nonetheless, that is a process that will be very succesfull, as long as you work both the ScrathchX and ColorX in well."

Good luck and don't forget to show us some before and after pics

That looks like a winning method.

Let me just add something to your steps.

        3) Scratch X by hand using foam applicator pad

        5) Gold Class Wax

That sounds like a good process. You might want to take 2 days though (like someone up there said).
