  • M21 attracts dust

    Hi,
    Part A
I am Jan from Bangkok Thailand, Been a Meguiar's fan for year
been using NXT tech wax paste and switched to M21 recently and detailed my mazda 3 serveral times , my teana as well and can tell the difference then M21 (small M21 costs 50 US$ in Thailand) gives a more glossy and shine look .
But at the same time M21 attracts alot of dust which is very annoying.
Please can anyone explain why does this happen.

    Part B
    My Meguiars collection consist of
    Scratch X
    #7
    M21
    Quick Detailer
Pls also suggest me which procduct to use for paint cleaning , removal of minor swirl and scratches ( i prefer to use scratch x on spots ony) keeping in mind in Thailand we are exposed to Consumer products and very very very little pro products.

    Part C
color X.. heard good revies about it. will it do good if i use Color X , #7 then M21

    Thankz

    Allow to respond like this:

    Part A
I love M21 and use it quite a bit (just yesterday in fact!) but I have not noticed it attracting more dust than any other wax or sealant so I'm not sure what else to tell you regarding this. Sorry.

    Part B
I would suggest ColorX since the Professional line is not readily available to you.

    Part C
I think you'll be very happy with this combo, which is why I recommended ColorX above!!!

Since the NXT causes less dust buildup, I would use it as a topper over the #21. That way you get the benefits of both products. It's a nice combination recommended to me by 2hotford and I am very happy with it!

Actually, just about any wax or paint sealant appears to encourage dust build-up, ours and theirs.

          Re: M21 attracts dust

Yes, but I noticed some products like MPPP, attract noticeably less dust than others. Must be those Mira Benz cations!

I doubt there will ever be anything that will totally repel dust though. Can't totally stop the effects of gravity! If someone does think of a way to totally repel dust, they will be very rich!!!!

            Re: M21 attracts dust

Actually, I think that M21 attracts less dust than NXT. However it may have to do with our different locations. When I was using NXT I would top it with Meguiars Quick Wax (spray on carnauba wax in the red bottle). I would also us the spray wax in between full details. To me it seemed to help the dust problem.

If you have reduced the swirls to the level you want then I would you use the first two steps of the the 3 step Meguiars Deep Crystal System. This is what I do on my wife's Lexus

            1) Deep Crystal System Cleaner
            2) Deep Crystal System Polish
            3) M21 (or NXT) (2 coats)

It looks great even though she drives it to work every day.

ColorX is a great product, but if you are going to do a multi step process I would step recommend the deep crystal system. On my son's care were the paint was not in great condition but we didn't have much time I did do two steps. ColorX followed by M21. But if I have the time I prefer do the additional polish steps.

            Cheers!
