  • .: Testing a new combo...help me.

    I'm using this combo:

    Wash (NXT shampoo)
    Clay
    ColorX
NXT (paste or liquid, depends on my elbow grease)

Willing to try both Meguiars Deep Crystal System Polish (replacing ColorX) and Meguiars Deep Crystal System Carnauba Wax (replacing NXT).

Any benefits/difference between then?! My car is light colored (pearl white) and I usually polish it 3 or 4/year and wax it mostly every month.

    Thanx in advance, Andre

The only problem with you combo is that ColorX is a cleaner/polish/wax, where DC#2 is a polish. So you are losing the cleaning step. You would need DC#1 for that.

A pure polish might not show up quite as much on a white car, but still something you can try.

Murr1525 is right, you're losing the cleaning step with the proposed changes. Just to note, you probably won't see any changes, and especially any dramatic changes as light colors, even when under a clear coat just don't offer the same appearance characteristics dark colors do.

Not to hijack your thread, but, would there be a benefit to DC1 instead of ColorX?

Well, DC#1 is a pure cleaner, while ColorX is a cleaner/polish/wax.

Single step products can tend to give better results than a all-in-one product, but ColorX can be a bit stronger than DC#1 if applied with passion.

Basicaly, it would look like this:

            1. Wash
            2. Clay as needed
            3. ColorX
            4. Wax

            or:

            1. Wash
            2. Clay as needed
            3. Clean - DC#1
            4. Polish - DC#2
            5. Wax - Your favorite wax
            6. Wax - A second coat

            Hope that helps....
