  • Paint Fade?

I've got a 1999 Dakota that's got "fade spots" where it looks like the paint/clear coat was "rubbed" off. There's alot of black Dodges out there with this problem. While the problem seems to stem from the factory, is there any way/ product to prevent this for forming anywhere else?

    Re: Paint Fade?

Sounds like clear coat failure, do a search using these words,

    Clearcoat Failure

then read some of the threads and look at the pictures, see if what's talked about and if the pictures describe what you're seeing.

If it is clear coat failure the only honest fix is to repaint the panel or the car. There is nothing you can pour out of a bottle that will fix paint that has gone bad.
