  • What LSP combo do you stand by and why?

Everyone here has a favorite LSP whether its NXT/NXT 2.0 x 2, or NXT topped with #21/#21 2.0, #20 or #26. Or other variations of #21, #20, #26, DC and Gold Class, etc. So which combination or LSP x 1 even, do you find brings you the results you're looking for whether it's pop, long lasting and durable, protective and such?

I probably use #21 more than any other LSP and eagerly await the v2.0 release.

I did pick up the kit containing NXT 2.0 but the weather has not been very nice here in Wisconsin so I didn't get to test it fully. I'll be heading back to Cape Coral in a few days so I'll give it a proper test soon. Quite a lot of value in that kit.

I also have a warm spot in my heart for #16 and #26. I still use these on select cars for their beauty. I absolutely love #26 on solid red paint and #16 on deep blue metallics. I also love to apply these paste waxes by hand. It's like therapy.

Meguiar's has so many fine LSP's to choose from.

There are so many to choose from. When I first started using Meguiars, It was a-12 cleaner wax, followed by Gold Class. Then it was the Gold class topped with 21. Then it was 5, 26. Lately I have been using 66 topped with 21. So all I can really say is that #21 is my favorite lsp. What I put on before is anybodies guess.

Over the last 25 years, I've used many Meguiars LSPs including the following:

        Consumer products -
        Polymer Sealant
        Fast Finish
        Deep Crystal (#3)
        Cleaner Wax
        Life Insurance
        Vibrant Paint Shield
        Gold Class Wax
        NXT

        Professional products -
        #16
        #20
        #26
#64 (Yes, that's right, it was a nice one-step product)
        Medallion Premium Paint Protection

Of these, the ones I stand behind are
        (a) #26 on my cars with single stage paint, including my 1968 Imperial and 1993 Mustange GT convertible. #26 provides the depth on single stage paint that seems (to me) to be lacking in synthetic products.
        (b) NXT on modern clear coats, especially my wife's White Diamond Cadillac CTS. Nothing else that I've tried provides a better look for the money and effort. Combined with weekly applications of UQD, my cars always look great!

Re: What LSP combo do you stand by and why?

Well...I think I have every current Meguiar's wax and it's all about NXT 2.0 right now. If you take NXT 2.0 out of the picture, its #21 over NXT. I've used #26, never really a huge fan, but the cars I've used it on were both light so that has something to do with it. Gold Class never hit the spot, it's a good wax don't get me wrong, just don't use it enough to like it. DC#3 is great as a topper wax or even a weekly "quick wax." I've never been a huge fan of cleaner waxes, I'd rather get a perfect finish then use a regular wax...

            Just my opinions...

I think cleaner waxes are designed for the folks trying to do a large amount of consumer grade details, while the more fun stuff is designed for those who really have the desire to take it to the next level.

For my personal ride, I'm sticking with NXT! 2.0 bottle is waiting for me to finish up my can!

On dark colors I use #21 topped with #26. On light colors I use #21 or NXT alone. Now I have NXT 2.0 on my truck and I really like it too. The #26 gives a deep gloss shine that I like on dark colors. Of course the NXT 2.0 looks more like that now as well. Deep clear looking gloss shine.

When I have time and the weather cooperates I'm going to clay, repolish and wax my truck with NXT 2.0. It's been a while since I polished the entire truck and I want to put the NXT 2.0 on with a clean slate so to speak.

My truck is Victory Red (no metallic) so its #26 for it. It gives it the deepest, wettest shine out of the MANY that I have tried.

My wifes is Indigo Blue Metallic so it wears #21. The 26 looks great on it, but it gives it a deep, wet look that tends to hide the metallic flakes in my opinion. The 21 seems to strike a better balance of depth/metallic enhancement on dark metallics than 26. It also last longer which is good because hers is driven alot more and doesn't get detailed as much.

I agree 1000%. If you have the opportunity to apply two coats of #21 with a 24 hour cure time in between, and then a coat of #16 another 24 hours later, you're sure to be a happy camper. The first time I did this I didn't even want to drive the car, I just wanted to sit there and look at it!!!

It should be noted that a proper wash/clay/polish job beforehand sorta helps a bit too.

Have two black Acura's - 07 TL and 06 MDX, both daily drivers. Used ColorX/26 on the TL and two coats of 21 on the MDX. The TL seemed to have a little more wetness and depth of shine, but the MDX finish appears to be holding up a little better. I was really pleased with both.

I want to try the NXT 2.0 and #21 2.0 as separate LSP's and see how they fair.
