  • wash after cleaner wax?

I just purchased the 3 step bottles and clay bar and had a question about the process.

Do you wash again after applying the cleaner wax(step1)? And I'd assume you wouldn't wash after the polish wax(step2) or else you'd remove the polish right?

    Thanks

Ok what exactly did you buy? There is the deep crystal 3 step system, but it does not involve cleaner wax. Here's a general break down:

1 Wash - Removes anything loosely stuck on the paint

2 Clay Bar - Removes most bonded contaminants and some light inperfections.

3 Paint cleaner - If necessary can remove contaminants and imperfections clay barring cannot.

4 Polish - Feeds paint with oils that it looses through oxidation and adds deep gloss.

5 Wax - Protects paint and provides a protective barrier and adds even more gloss and smoothness.

If you've got a clay bar after washing use that first and if there is anything still bonded to the paint, or any imperfections you want to take care of then use the paint cleaner after that. Then the polish then the wax. A cleaner wax is more designed to be a one step product (though will work with others just as well) to do a paint cleaner/protection job.

As far as when to wash you'll only need to wash before you do anything else (assuming you do each one after the other without any breaks long enough to get anything on the surface of course).
    Later,

      Quik Clay Detailing System

      Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner
      Deep Crystal System Polish
      Deep Crystal System Carnuba Wax

I've clayed and am ready to apply the cleaner. In error, I referred to it as cleaner wax in my original post.

Thus far, I've washed, clayed, and washed again.

So I don't need to wash again after the Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner then, correct?

      Thanks.

Nope. Just follow it by a polish & wax and enjoy.
