  • #40 vs Cockpit Shine

I see that they have cockpit shine.
How does it compare to #40
I like the looks from #40 just wondering if it is more or less gloss than the cockpit shine
40 is a little glossy for my taste for the dash but I use it on the dash of my show car because the judges like to see the gloss

    Re: #40 vs Cockpit Shine

To keep the gloss down with #40, apply with a microfiber applicator pad. Work it in real good(I use a circular motion like applying a wax by hand).
Then take a clean and dry miccrofiber towel and wipe the excess off. This will leave your dash with a nice satin finish. No gloss.

        Re: #40 vs Cockpit Shine

The old Cockpit Shine, which is now NXT Tech Protect, will give a higher gloss than #40. If you want a lower gloss I would stick with the #40.

You stated that 40 was a little too glossy for your taste. I was simply letting you know how to make it have a satin finish.

Cockpit Shine is NXT Tech Protect. The name was changed for a very short time. I believe there were only a few thousand bottles with the Cockpit Shine name ever made.

Going all the way to the new Quick Interior Detailer 2.0 would be the lowest gloss option for your daily driver.

THANKS You answered what I wanted to know
I know how to reduce the shine I was wanting to know what the difference was between the two.

I still have several of the original bottles left, but according to the description, 2.0 will be very similar but with more of the protection ingredients, like UV.
