I have heard from some of my friends that rain x works like a pro on all of their cars. But I have also heard that it can cause your winshield to get a foggy substance over the top. I was wondering if you guys use it and if it really works on your winshields?

Re: Rain X
I use Rain-X on all of my windows on all my vehicles and have for many years without a single issue.
I’m also at a loss to why so many people get different results.
FWIW, I do use it very sparingly and let it dry really good before buffing off.
Just give it a try and see if it works for you.

Re: Rain X
i've used rainx for roughly 3 years now with excellent results. I also like it because it makes it easier to clean the windows (kind of like a waxed car is easier to clean). I use it on all of my windows and sometimes my headlights. Like TXShine said, just make sure you let it dry real good, then buff REALLY well making sure you get all of it "off"

Re: Rain X
I think it adds a little extra gloss, which is nice for the looks. But when raining, the water will blow off more (Nxt glass cleaner seems to do this as well, but not as much) so even a good wiper will have less work to do.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: Rain X
Used to use Rain-X (used for many years, since it first came out) but on my previous vehicle (Highlander) it caused really bad wiper chatter. So I quit using it. About the same time, I started using Meg's Detailer's Glass Cleaner. If I use this every day or every other day (i.e. keep a very clean windshield,) I have no problem with chatter, and really good vision at night in the rain (which was the main advantage of the Rain-X "beading" effect.) The "beading" effect is not as drastic with Meg's Glass Cleaner, but still noticeable.

Aquapel is supposed to be re-applied every six months, however, I have gone well over a year before it did not shed water any more.
