See it hiding in the corner by the ColorX and febreeze

      Re: Rain X

I have used rain x and also had trouble wiping the haze off so a quick easy way to use this stuff and has worked great for me is to grab a bottle of glass cleaner and a microfiber give the glass a quick clean not perfect just to get most of the grime off BEFORE YOU WASH THE CAR.....grab a paper towel or what ever you like to apply rain x with and work it onto your windows let it haze up then wash the car as normal and simply wash the haze off with you soap....Has worked great for myself many times

I have found Aquapel online for about $10 (the cheapest I have found it yet).

I have used rain-x for years. Love it!! I was wondering if anyone uses a buffing pad to get the haze off? I usually use a mf towel to get it off. I take it off after it's dry with just a dry towel. I tried it with wet towels and didn't like the results.

The rain hits the windshield and then bounces off when in contact.

The price that I have found it at was around about $50 or so... this is just by itself not for some one applying it for you.

              Re: Rain X

RainX is the only non-Meguiar's product I use and I like it. Water rolls off and it does a good job cleaning bug guts and sap. Lots of people love it and other absolutely hate it. I've never experienced chatter on with my truck or any other vehicle that I've applied RainX to.

                  Re: Rain X

I have had mixed results with it. On my last car, it never caused any problems except an occasionally hazy windshield that cleaned up with water or glass cleaner and a microfiber.

On my newest car it caused severe windshield wiper chatter, so I replaced 2 week old wipers with new ones. After replacing the wipers, I had the same issue again within a few days but in less than a week the issue resolved itself.

                      Re: Rain X

I have found the best way to apply Rain-X is to give the glass a quick cleaning and apply the Rain-X BEFORE washing the car. The excess Rain-X is removed during the wash and the window buffs out crystal clear when the car is dried.

I haven't experienced the wiper chatter, but I do think I know what the smearing/fogging issue is. I believe it has to do with the weather and humidity. I've most noticed the fogging/streaking when it is very humid. In cold weather it only happens when the car is first started until the windows warm up a bit and in warm weather, when it's so muggy that everything steams up.

Other than that, I have had some pretty nasty-worn wiper blades that would sweep the water off the window like a new blade because of the Rain-X.

BTW putting Rain-X on the headlights does increase nighttime visibility, the same way water can blur and distort your vision, it can blur and distort the light from the headlight, reducing its effectiveness.

On the headlights though, it only recommends that after you check with the manufacturer to make sure it won't damage the lens (mainly on the plastic ones, like mine).

It has denatured alcohol in it, I'm sure that had something to do with it.
