  • How do I get wax out of the seams and trim?

What is the preferred way to get wax out of the trim and seams? I've seen some people use a toothbrush, but I am worried it will scratch the paint. Any suggestions?

Spray a little quick detailer on the dried wax and gently loosen with a soft toothbrush, then wipe up with a clean microfiber.

Jist about the best tool I've found is this:

I also have a stick eraser that looks like a pencil that is wound with a spiral of material that you remove to expose more eraser. I carve this to a sharp point with a razor blade to get into the smallest of cracks.

The rubber grips the left over wax/polish and easily removes it with out damage to the paint/plastic.

Next time work carefully around trim or tape it off with painters tape.

I think it depends a lot on the specific areas you have to deal with. For me, the areas that are a royal PITB, are the lines where the clear bra meets the paint. I have found the best method is a toothpick with light pressure, some QD and a micro-fiber.

As a standard process for reconditioning used BMW's, I power wash the vehicle after compounding and polishing. This removes excess product from seams and prepares the car for a final coat of Meguiar's #26 which is applied with a pc.

You could take the car to a self-serve car wash and do the same thing with the rinse cycle....plain water is all that is needed.

Why not avoid it in the first place? Tape off seams and trim?

Ive got alittle detailing brush that I got for Christmas many year ago from my parents that got it from Meguiars.

I dont believe I have a picture of it but it works out great for getting dust and such out of seems.
