  • #7 over NXT

In the video(DVD) Mike finishes with showing #7 after NXT. Is that normal or was it just a demo of another product? The video was most helpful and I followed it to the letter(clay, #80, and 2 coats of NXT) on a neglected 2003 Black Tahoe. Side by side test was very convincing. I'm a novice that's now hooked. Thanks in advance.

It is simply a demo, not the recomended procedure. It was just becasue there was daylight left to do more stuff.

Thanks. I thought so but being a newby I had to ask. I love the forum thing. It's a wealth of info. Thanks again.

If you apply M07 on top of a wax, it will give the paint a wetter look. It offers no protection and will wash off.

I've decided that the best thing to use OVER #7 is a carnauba that has no cleaners in it. This would be #26. I wouldn't use NXT or #21 since they have some cleaners in the base of the product.

You can do this or just use #7 alone if it's a show car or garage queen.

This reminded me about my debate. Idk if Ill use #26, #16, or NXTV2 on the next detail. Ive yet to properly prep the paint for NXTv2 so idk how good it actually does. A thread on autopia got me wanting to use #26 but I just bought #16 not long ago and want to try it! AHHHH

I'm sort of in the same boat because I have all these products and really like all of them. I'm looking forward to trying NXT 2.0 topped with M26 because I always really liked M21 topped with M26. Then again, NXT 2.0 just looks so good on its own. Of course, so does M16. But I also like M81 Hand Polish underneath any of these, yet from another thread I've become very curious about M03 Machine Glaze applied via rotary before waxing. Dang it..... too many really good products.
