i hate to be posting this cause i read so many others simmular stories, but even after 15hrs plus reading/watching on how to use this thing i spent 6hrs just on M83 on my 04 black jetta, no love given back. i washed, clayed then used a 8006 with PC, i thought it used it exactly like i read and watched , i placed a mark in the pad with a felt marker and watched it go round confirming movement, i used the correct speeds/pressure,amount of product and clean pads, and times to break down polish. now i got a minimual amount of some swirls out but these circles which look like waterspots still give an outline in the right light ( i used a halogen light) and thousands of scratches i didnt even tutch, do i need a stronger abrasive v(like diamond cut 2.0) these scratches are soooooooo visible under close inspection with a light, Unable to detect with a fingernail. i just couldnt believe even these water spots ,oxidation spots still are lessened but not removed after so many passes and so much work. im at witts end and so confused , im gonna to try and post pics but i am not very computer savey and go back and read all the stuff i already read and watched i hopes of something clicking in. thanks

Re: im doin something wrong
Well unfortunately all paints are different and what may work on one car will not even put a dent in another. I know i did a BWM and posted about it on here that required a rotary #85 Diamond Cut via wool pad just to remove light swirls. So you can imagine that #83 and a DA would have not of touched it. I am not saying this is the case here but it can be. If you said you are sure you are using all the right techniques and pressure and still not seeing the results then it may be time to step up to a rotary. If you do not have any experience with one you may want to start off practicing on junk parts getting used to the machine because it is alot different than using a DA and just perfecting your technique before working on your vehicle or look into getting it professionally done but even most shops don't do a good job so i always prefer people do it them selves but take their time and learn before jumping into things""Some of us will do our jobs well and some will not, but we will be judged by only one thing - the result." - Vince Lombardi

Re: im doin something wrong
It looks like you are doing a good job. Remember, a PC will not have the power to remove all defects. Looks like with a little more time it will look dang good
Also, are you using anything after the 83? Like 80?If its fast, loud, and runs on a flammable liquid...count me in.

Re: im doin something wrong
After seeing the pics you are making good progress so i think just another pass or 2 with the 83 and then hit it one last time with #80 then wax but thats just my recommendation.""Some of us will do our jobs well and some will not, but we will be judged by only one thing - the result." - Vince Lombardi

Re: im doin something wrong
Looks like your are removing most of the swirls. Remember if it's a daily driver their is not need to have a 100% perfect finish, because it's a DD then daily it's exposed to the environment that conspires against the paint! jaja
But seriously you are making great progress, plus if you top with NXT 2.0 this wax does a great job hiding swirls so the remaining that you can't remove could be covered to who knows
Good luck
