  • claybar lubricant???

I was at my buddies house the other day and he was claying his Explorer. He washed the vehicle first, them refilled his bucket with fresh soap and water and used that as a lubricant while claying when he was done he re-washed the car then applied wax. It didn't seam like he was harming the paint would anyone here recommend this??? I always use the Quick Detailer as a lubricant. BTW he used Gold Class Soap.

    thanks

You can use a car wash/water mix, but it tends to break down the clay. A QD like Quik Detailer is best.

I tend to use Last Touch at 1:1 for claying.

I have used this method of wash water when I was using a certain Z named product and over about 8 months the clay started to break down and got crumbly like an eraser after use. I have been having good luck using last touch cut 50/50 with water as clay lube.

IMO last touch is the way to go.... I have not had much luck with water/soap.

I wash my car and then rinse clean. I leave it wet and use a combination of the water on the car and quik detailer. Then wash again to remove anything else.

+1 Although I use diluted NXT Car Wash in a spray bottle instead of a quick detailer.
