  • Dressing rear wheelwells on my Mustang

    Good morning all,
I was detailing the 'stang yesterday and wondered aloud "Do other people have as much trouble with the wells as I am?" So, the question is, what do others use on the rear wheel wells of Mustangs that are coated with an underbody type material? I used Gold class rubber/vinyl dressing, but I am contemplating getting a sample of Hyper-dressing from ADS and trying that. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Lee

You might want to look at All Season Dressing

+1 for All Season Dressing, that's what I use in the wells and on the tires of my brother's GT.

Usually I will use APC(if needed) along with a really old sponge to clean wheel wells. For a dressing, All Season Dressing will last longer but Hyper Dressing will also work well.

Just make sure you never use anything you clean the wheel wells with to clean the paint.

I assume you mean the black plastic kind of lining in the wheelwell.

Are you talking about the rough, underspray type wheel wells? If so, I have used a spray on product that I get at O'Reilly's and just spray the wells when I want them black (usually once a year, maintain with Megs Dressing). I think its called undercarriage / undercoat spray or something to that extent, I'll see if I can get the name for you. Runs about $7 per can.

Rubberized under coating- I have used Westley's and recently DuPont. I liked the DuPont more.

I use it on my own, and some client's vehicles and maintain it with Hyper Dressing. Of course, we don't get rain often in San Diego so Hyper Dressing works extremely well, but in other areas you may want to use All-Season dressing.
