  • Soft Top on A S2000

    Hey everyone,

I friend of mine just bought a used Honda S2000. I will be detailing it in the spring for him. I was wondering what cleaner and dressing I should use for the factory soft top. I have only seen the car at night and the top feels and looks like ballistic nylon but has a canvas feel to it also. I was thinking something on the lines of 40/39. If anyone has experience with this cars top please chime in. Also what could be used on the soft plastic rear window to keep it soft. It is not hazed or yellowing just something to keep it soft and pliable.

You might want to confirm with the company or the folks at the S2Ki.com forum for the specific year, but I'm pretty sure that S2000s have vinyl top--at least mine is vinyl. I use Raggtopp cleaner and protectant on the top. These are probably the most popular products, but the 303 products are also very popular among convertible owners.

I think PlastX will work find with the plastic rear window, but again do confirm with others. I have the glass window in my model.

I recommend you download this S2000 Detailing Handbook. It's really quite helpful.

    Good luck!
