im having problems with waxing.after i wipe the car down,there are lighter and darker areas?

What wax did you use?
Sounds like you put it on a bit thick, and it didn't have enough time to fully cure. Try another application, and this time put it on there super thin! Let it fully cure(swipe test), then remove.

Like Nick said you probably put the wax on uneven which is leading to your lighter and darker areas.

I agree with Nick.
I think the wax was not applied evenly.
Here are two other alternatives to try:
1. Wash the car again. (Might Help)
2. Use UQD (Supposedly Works)Joel

The Swipe Test
When you darker areas or patches in the paint this is just residue that still needs to be removed.
Applying thin coats is pretty easy to do with a DA Polisher, just don't use too much wax on your pad. Allowing the coating of wax to fully dry before removing will also help to insure complete wipe-off and a uniform appearance. Also check out this thread,
