    Tailgate crack

    02" Ford Explorer has an 8 in verticle crack about 18" wide in the tailgate, platic. What do you recommend, as a mender, which can be touch-up paited over? Bondo, JB Weld?

    Is this an Explorer Sport Trac? That is a unique question. You may need to go to a Forum for that vehicle to see if any other owner has experienced that problem.

      If the plastic is cracked into 2 pieces, then there's probably no good fix that will work as well as just replacing the component taking into consideration the abuse most tailgates get.

      Good advice, find a forum just for your model of Ford and there's probably a few Gurus on it that can help you with the best solution to the problem.
