  • Best way to remove a diesel spill from paint

I have a 99 E300TD and recently noticed some of the diesel has spilled out of the cap and onto the paint while driving. I have washed the car but there is a discolored film aroung the gas tank door. Other than repainting the quarter-panel, are there any suggestions as to treating the affected area to remove the diesel associated damage?

Re-painting is a far too extreme measure, it will be greasy marks from the fuel, try a Tar Remover or cleaner polish. You will need to polish / wax afterwards as it strips wax

On the other hand, Diesel is oily, like others said, try Gold Class Tar/Bug remover then you will have to rewax effected area.
