  • water spots

I have a 95 Honda Del sol that my daughter insists on parking in front of the sprinklers, and since they are my sprinklers it is my fault her cars finish is all spotty. She has tried the white vinegar on the windows but that didn't work all that well. the car spent some time in SF by the ocean so the finish is a bit rough. Now it is in the central valley of CA, where the sun takes its toll. do you thingk the best solution is to clay the car? or just attack it with a wire grinding wheel (just kidding). and then a good waxing?

    Re: water spots

I would clay for sure, it will help remove the contaminants.
Probably you'll need to use a paint cleaner to remove some of the etching and other marks and then wax.

If so, will you be working by hand?

        Re: water spots

Yes, try claying the vehicle...If that does not remove the water spots, then use a light Paint Cleaner, such as Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner. It will quickly remove them. You can use it on the windows to. For future window Cleaning get the Detailer Line Glass Cleaner, or the NXT Glass Cleaner. Both in which work great

          doboca1,

Check out my first post on this detail. It'll answer your questions on the window watermarks. After completing the rest of the detail, watermarks on the painted surfaces were also removed using the procedure stated in the thread. Good luck!

Clay may or may not do it, but it is the first thing to try.

I'd at least use something like SwirlX before waxing.

              Re: water spots

I would give claying a try. For the water spots on the glass. Since you are doing this by hand. I would get some #4 and a terry cloth towel. Always worked for me in removing hard water spots on glass. Good luck.
