I have no idea what is on this guys paint...

The site admin of another forum asked me if I knew what this was and how to get it off. I'm pretty puzzled as to what it is. He said he can pick it off with his finger but it is all over the entire car. Clay bar seems to be the way to go but does anyone know what this is?

I'm thinking some kind of tree sap based on how it's formed and the hight it's built up from the paint. I don't think road tar would land on the paint that way...


Any thoughts?

Are you refering to those black bumps...That's Gross

Maybe some form of Tree Sap or unknown Insect looking thing

That's what I did. Just never seen anything quite like it.


It does look kind of gross! Like moles...without the ugly hair! hahaha

Could it be asphalt crack sealant?

I've some stuff that was actually quite spongy.

Possible. The shape of them makes me think the car was stationary though.

Did You Try Taking a Plastic Razor or Flicking it Off?

It Looks Like Metallic Paint or Liquid Graphite from the Picture.

Maybe it is a berry from some type of tree. Get a lot of things like that in Florida. The Ficus tree for one will leave blueberry sized pods on your car. Alas the birds carry them too and leave deposits which are paint destroyers.
