I have a gallon of body solvent. It says in the directions to only use on clear coated paint. What happens if the paint is unclear coated?
Also, are most bumpers clear coated?
If you have tried Body Solvent please tell me your opinion and what you use it on.

    Thanks

    Re: Body Solvent

I was thinking about picking some up as a bug/tar remover, but I might be wrong, need to check.

        Clear coat is paint
Therefor if the car has not cc or single stag it still das paint
As far as the bumper go, all painted surfaces will have cc, some more than others ie: the top might have more than the bumpers. But I could be wrong on the latter.

Where does it say only to use on clear coated paints?

My gallon and spray bottle do not mention anything about that.

I really wouldn't worry about that warning...

Clear Coat is referring to paint. If it doesn't have it than it's single stage paint.

Bumpers are painted the same as the rest of the vehicle as well.

Not true. I have had multiple cases where the bumpers and flares were painted with single stage paint, while the rest of the body was clear coated.

Just to repeat, there is NO warning on the D130 Body Solvent suggesting the product cannot be used on clear coats.

Question: Will Body solvent remove wax when used to remove bug and tar?
