Like the title says, what is the best way to clean the seatbelts? Mine are the type that are attached to the door itself, rather than the side pillar. Thanks!

Re: Best way to clean seat belts?
Are you talking about cleaning the actual belt, or the hard plastic of the seat belt?
I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.
I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
Remove swirls my friends.

Re: Best way to clean seat belts?
Lot's of water
Pull the belt out to where it is clean or the whole thing, clamp it
and just clean like normal but rinse completely and MUST BE DRY COMPLETELY BEFORE IT RETRACTS.
This is a safety device and needs extra attention.
Not that you can do any damage to the belt, just pay attention and do a good job

Re: Best way to clean seat belts?
I pull my seat belt all the way out and clamp it so it cannot retract. From there I spray it down with APC+ and then scrub it with a carpet brush, if there are any stains on it, you could try using a spot remover. Just treat it like your carpet, but make sure it is dry like MaseratiMario said before it retracts.

Re: Best way to clean seat belts?
I used Woolite Upholstery Cleaner. Just worked it in with a sponge, then used a damp microfiber to get the soap out, and followed up with a dry microfiber. The belts are titanium grey and actually looked more like brown, they were so dirty. They look like new now.1968 Mustang Coupe Candy Apple Red

Re: Best way to clean seat belts?
Never use anything stronger than a mild soap solution of luke warm water to clean the webbing. Other chemicals can attack the fibres in the webbing, causing them to deteriorate and weaken. Bleaches, solvents and dyes will definitely attack the webbing.
Also it is important, as Maserati Mario, states to allow them to dry completely in the shade before retracting.
The above goes for any sort of webbing such as vehicle recovery equipment (slings, snatch straps, etc).
Are the Meguiars range of interior cleaning products safe to get on the seat belts? Sometimes it's hard to avoid getting some on the belts.

The following page from a local auto club gives some good information on seat belt care and maintenance:
