    OK, so my ride is a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera SL, purple pearl in color. Nice thing about that color, it hides dirt nicely for a "dark" colored car. Don't make fun, it's a nice car, a little boring perhaps, but reliable. And that's good enough for me. Well, it's got some swirl marks (What do you expect for a 14 year old car?), and I've tried DC1, Ultimate Compound, and Swirl X (all by hand) and the swirls aren't coming out. I know it's not my technique that's the problem, because I've read way too many threads and posts on here as well as the backs of the bottles in order to find out how to do it. I'm working small sections, holding the pad like Mike Phillips says to, not letting the product dry, blah blah blah, but nothing is working. After I washed my car today (didn't need to clay because I just did that 2 or 3 weeks ago), I did 2 applications of Swirl X on the hood, followed by DC2 and Cleaner Wax. This reduced the swirls somewhat, but they're still there. I might be able to remove them completely with 5-6 applications per panel, but I don't think my arms are going to agree to that. I've even done a test spot with 2 applications of Ultimate Compound but that didn't help like I was hoping it would. NXT 2.0 tends to cover up the swirls pretty good, but 2-3 weeks later they show up again. I don't want to clay and wax all the time just to try to cover up some stupid swirl marks. I think my car just has a really hard clear coat, because it's workability tends to be rather tough. It even accidentally scraped against a tree branch once and didn't leave a mark at all, though I was afraid it would leave an ugly scratch. Should I just wait and save up to get a G110 and M105/M205? From all the pictures and rave reviews I suspect this will be my magic combo, but I don't know for sure. Anybody ever worked on Oldsmobile paint before? Thoughts on it's workability? I wasn't even really aware of the swirl marks until I joined MOL; I was just a wash, clay, remove scratches, wax kind of guy. But now that I know what they are and they're not supposed to be part of the package, I'd like to see them gone. Any input, thoughts, or suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

    I would buy the G110, and samples of 105 and 205.

      It sounds like you have really hard paint. Perhaps you should purchase the G110, and the M105/205 combo as well, as well as the appropriate pads.

      It sounds like you are making good attempts by hand with Ultimate Compound and SwirlX. But since your paint is hard then getting the G110 will take a lot of the work out for you.
