  • Order of Operations: Clay Bar or Scratches?

Ok So I hit a deer but that is a long story.

Basically I have lots of minor scratches on my hood. Most are just through the clear.

Should I Claybar THEN go after the scratches? Or Vice Versa?

Yeah, clay first, then use a paint cleaner on the scratches.

Hopefully they arent all too deep, and you can at least improve everything.

OK I'm new at this myself however I''ve just been reading how to get rid of swirl marks and they say clay then scratches.

The way I see the scratches are in your paint work while claying only remove dirt sitting ON the paint. Check ScratchX out

      EDIT: Dam, Post sniped.

        Welcome to Meguiars Online!!

        As mentioned above clay first.
Then Remove the Scratches with Scratch X, SwirlX , or Ultimate Compound.

*****Remember start with the least aggressive method possible. (I listed the products from least to Most aggressive)****

Then put on 1 or 2 coats of NXT 2.0 Tech Wax.
        Good Luck!!
