  • Swirls in Black Paint from Scratch X

Looks like I've got a lot of swirls after using Scratch X on a Black car. I was trying to remove some water spots, by hand. What now?
    Thanks

    Can you post pictures?

    What was your method/process?

What did you apply the product with?

I used a microfiber pad and just rubbed it on.

It did remove some of the water spots. This was a friends car that was badly neglected, but this may be worse than it was.

Did you wash and clay the car prior to using ScratchX to remove surface contaminants?

I washed it but did not clay it.

You may have not worked it in enough.

First thing I would do is get yourself some foam applicators. They are gentler than the microfiber applicators.

The second thing I would do is buy a bottle of SwirlX.

I would then apply some SwirlX over the swirled area with a foam applicator.

If that doesn't work, I would then re-apply ScratchX with a foam applicator.
