  • Clay Question

I don't belive him, but one of my coworkers said not to clay because it removes the clear coat. Instead to just wash regularly. Some thing tells me this is a lie.

Anyway i'm a detailing noob so will clay really screw with the paint?

    Sorry for the bad english

    Re: Clay Question

claying your car is fine, it does not remove the clear coat. It only removes bonded contaminents in your paint the regular washing does not remove. So if you are going to do some paint correction claying is a good prep step to have the best working surface possible.

          Re: Clay Question

I found out the hard way that I needed to clay a brand new car. Now I know what a smooth as glass surface is really like.
