how much correction could i receive?

How much swirls and scratches do you think i can get out using a Yellow restore pad with scratch x 2.0 on a PC?
50%?

The paint is pretty swirled up.

You should be able to get out the light or shallow swirls for sure.

You won't know what you can do until you go out into your garage and do a test spot.


TEST SPOT

Doing A Test-Spot

Before going over the entire car, see if you can make just one small section look good, that is apply the product you're planning on using over the entire car to just one small section about a foot squared or so. Work it in and then wipe it off, then apply the polish, work it in but not as much as the compound because now you're not trying to remove paint, just spread the product out, then immediately wipe it off, then apply the wax and let it fully dry and then wipe it off.

Now inspect our results. Make sure you can make one small section look GREAT before going over then entire car. If you can't make one small section look GREAT you won't be able to make the entire car look GREAT.

You may want to invest in one of those spiffy little paint-measurement tools. No idea where they're purchased but they look awesome. Maybe someone else can shed some light on them.

The Paint Thickness Gages measure total film-build which includes all the layers or coatings on the surface of the panel, not just the clear layer, so all they are really good at is giving you an indicator of how much total paint is on a panel and measuring how much material you've removed.

Just use common sense and don't try to remove all the deeper scratches and you'll be okay without one.
