Re: no sling tire shine?
Do you work at a shop where you need larger sizes, or is this for home use ?
A few keys to think about that will also help reduce / eliminate sling...
1) Make sure the tires are clean before applying a dressing
2) Apply dressing sparingly
3) Wipe off any excess, especially the excess in the grooves
4) Let product dry for 5 - 10 minutes before driving away

Re: no sling tire shine?
Someone here uses a heat gun. While their clean, and after dressing is applied. I suppose you could use the heat after applying so it can soak into the rubber quickly.Daily - 09 Chevrolet Colorado - Techno gray metallic

As Mike Pennington suggested, the key is in the application process just as much as the product.I love my Hyper Dressing!!!
It is the best tire dressing ive used! No sling, and you can dilute it to whatever shine you want!

Re: no sling tire shine?
I used Hot Shine Tire Foam to clean the face of the tire first and followed it up with Endurance gel applied with a tire foam applicator. I didn't over apply the gel and was really just going for a nice matte appearance. Worked out great for me and I haven't had any slinging.

Re: no sling tire shine?
non megs product, but I use Tuf Shine. it's a clear coat for rubber. Seen it last as long as a month before it started to break down. No sling, no oily residue. wash with soap and water to get the dirt off.Hitachi SP 18VA & PCXP

Re: no sling tire shine?
Now and again i hear this on the forum and it baffles me.Even before I started using 'hot Shine', i've used autoglym's tyre dressing, arexons from a supermarket shelf and have never once had this happen.Untill I joined MOL,I would never of even considered it.
If someone says that they are putting it on liberaly and wiping it off, I can't understand why this happens.
The only thing I do is spray it onto a small damp sponge and apply it onto a wet tire wall.I don't even wipe it off.I just keep going round with the sponge. The only thing I do after is wipe the wheel rims here and there where I've overlapped, with a paper towel.
The only thing that occurs to me,is that if it is being sprayed directly onto the tire wall, possibly some product can run a little under the tire and can't be seen.As soon as you drive off,it gets kicked up.
Apart from that,I can't figure it out.

Re: no sling tire shine?
I use tire foam alot, so this is what I do - Spray a thin coat in the middle of the tire, let sit for about 10-15 minutes, then work the dressing in and spread it evenly all around the tire. Then i use a leaf blower to blow any leftover dressing/water out of the tread and it also helps to aid in the drying. Been doing this for years and it works fantastic for *me*..

Re: no sling tire shine?
some pics for you to see:
here is the tire clean and dry:
close up:
after the first coat:
Not too impressed by what one pass does. Also, a better sponge would be nice!
2nd coat:
3rd coat:
4th coat...yes, a 4th!
Didn't get one up close. Ill take another tomorrow. I found that the best way to apply is to make sure you have plenty on the sponge, then wipe briskly. Seeing white is okay I noticed because it dries even and clear. Swipe test to ensure that it's dry, then the next coat.
***********CAUTION***********
Don't let it get on the chrome!! It will dry on!

I feel you have to use a lot of product to get an even coat, but if it lasts, it is worth it because in the end, you dont go through an equal amount of other sprays.Hitachi SP 18VA & PCXP

Re: no sling tire shine?
Hi Nino, what product are you using?I get your 4th application with one pass of 'Hot Shine'. Sometimes 2,if I havn't been able to get to it for a while. I have yokohama parada spec 2 tires, which have quite a smooth wall aswell.Having said that,it works the same on my other car, which has michelins, with a tightly grooved pattern on the side wall.

Re: no sling tire shine?
I understand how Hot Shine works because I used to use it. I use Tuf Shine. This lasts up to 6 weeks that I've personally seen. It's not oily or anything after application. You can run your finger across it and it's clean!
You clean your wheels with a quick rinse of soap and water and do not need to reapply. Hot Shine doesn't do that. It also attracts dust and hold on to it where Tuf Shine doesn't. I am not knocking any other wheel product or trying to endorse this one, but Im explaining why I am sold on it and will continue to use it. If you wanna discuss it more, PM me so we dont take away from the OP
