  • Rough/bubbly paint, don't really know what it is

I noticed I had this odd line on the back on my trunk. It's not really rough but it's not correct. It's hard to describe so I'll let you guys take a look at it.

What is this and what can it lead to?

    Was it repainted?

Could've gotten dirty somewhere in the painting process.

I see it better on the side, where the light doesn't hit.

Has it always been there,or is it something that you've noticed recently?

It's a clearcoat, 1999 Accord. It's been there a while, at least 6+ months if recall correctly so probably even longer than that.

So is the clear coat bubbled also, or is that white stuff seem to be on top of the clear coat?

Okay, from what you are saying....Wasn't always there.

It looks a bit like corrosion under the paint causing bubbling. But the bubbling looks to small and uniform for that.

It's hard to tell from a pic, although i can see it well. Can you tell if it's bubbled on the surface or underneath?

From your other pics it looks like possibly something has been spilled on the surface, causing the paint to do that.

It's under the surface it feels like.

Looks like poss Bird poop that etched and lifted the paint.

I didn't know bird pong was strong enough to lift paint!

Have you examined the inside of the trunk?

Look very closely around the framework, just to see if there are any problems from the inside.

From the berries they eat it is very acidic.

Apart from all the different types of paintwork,I've read a lot of problems with the bird poop.Etching etc.

I get the same on my cars, but comes off very easily, without any staining or damage.Don't get me wrong.I've had it on my skin and it burns! But at the same time doesn't damage my paintwork.

Must be something to do with species and their diet.
