  • Protecting New Lacquer?

Did a search and couldn't find an answer for this.
I'm putting acrylic lacquer (maroon) on a show car that will see weekend road use, and be garaged otherwise. The water at my home, on the coast, is hard i.e. mineral deposits, and I would like to know how to best protect the paint from water spots and ocean salt spray. Do todays lacquer paints need to be waxed every month? The car will be shown for points but I still want to enjoy it going down the road on weekends, so I'll do what I have to do to protect it.
    Thanks,

    Re: Protecting New Lacquer?

You will want to treat it like other paint. After sparaying, it will want to sit for 30-90 days (see manufacturer recomendations) before waxing it. Then you can use something like Nxt 2.0 to protect it.

As far as the water spots, you will want to look at proper car washing techniques, as well as possibly some kind of water filter, even if you only used it for car washing.
