  • Can I clay today, wax tomorrow ?

Hello, I'm about to put some love into my gf's civic but can't do everthing today. I need to wash, clay, scratchx, wax, wax.
So could I wash the car today than clay it, put it overnight into garage and then do the rest tomorrow ?

I have done that before with no ill effects.

You might just want to give a Quick Detailer wipedown tomorrow if it gets dusty.

I'd do the same just to be safe.

+1 on the QD wipedown. Remember- safety first, then teamwork.

Detailers clean places nobody see. Detailer see's things nobody else see. But if you ask a Detailer to see how a dress looks on a woman, they are blind.

Yeah that's fine. If you have a notoriously dusty garage or lots of dust gets kicked up, you can QD the next day. What I'd do is just look closely at the surface before and if there isn't much dust, you're fine without a QD.

Yeah I washed the car, and wow, it seriously needs some detailing. we just bought it for her, 99civic hatchback in black, it looks likes someone took a sandpaper and just scratched the whole car in circular motion, car is seriously scratched.
Then when I washed it (meguiars microfiber washmit and gold class shampoo) the roof felt like sandpaper, I had to put muscle into it to move the washmit and it just felt scarry. water just stayed on car, did not want to go with the flow.

The clay bar should do wonders on removing that rough feeling from the paint. The ScratchX will help even more to smooth it out.

Just to be on the safe side, I would give her car a qd wipe down in the morning.

Yes, it's OK to clay today, and wax tomorrow. However, make sure it's not going to rain today, or at least be in a garage, so it will be easier for you when waxing.
