  • Quick Question About ColorX

Can You Describe Color-X In One Word?? I can NOW, A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! I bet one more go around would do for now...but the paint was CLEARRRRRRRRRRRRR and PRETTYYYYYYYYYYYYYY unlike I ever thought possible without respray...darn shame about my CC failure and the looks like water spots ate through the clear, then the base and then primer and are now RUST spots all over the left side of the hood/quarter panel. I cant type any longer...have to do more Color-X!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love ColorX, I intend to post some pics of my boss' car detailed in part by ColorX some time during this week. All I need is for the weather to hold up.

          Re: Quick Question About ColorX

          Yep Yep!

My ONLY regret so far besides not getting it sooner is not starting when I got home from O`reilys, So I got 2 thorough applications done, dried, and wiped but did not want to add the NXT 2.0 as I only had about 20 minutes of real sunlight and I did not want to have the same problems I had b4. Seeing as I hear condensation/moisture will make the NXT 2.0 act up (being this close to the ocean we have high humidity and at night, vehicles sweat.I was told there is pretty much nothing to prevent this other than a garage or a top dollar cover. I will lightly dust in the a.m. and then apply a few coats of my NXT 2.0 b/c like I have stated b4...it is the wax that Iwant to use.

Are there any waxes that have been formulated to compliment the Color-X seeing as how it has been out for quite a few years?? Or maybe any that would in theory do better as a topper than NXT 2.0? I`m guessing UQW after 12 or more hours of curing, then after 12 more hours of curing I would be topping the UQW with UQd...IMHO that should make a LETHAL combination. If not then I suppose I will give the 2.0 another shot.
What`s the worst that could happen?

The Car Was Painted Red When It Was New But For The 6-7 Years I Have Had It, Always Looked A Little Pink...Well Now Once Again It`s REDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!! (Or At Least The Panel I Started Over On Is) 50/50 IPA wipe down was not doing anything to take what I guess as being approximately 12 total coats of wax so I moved up to IPA wipe down at full strength, and still nothing so I "soaked the cloth" and then basically scrubbed the entire panel twice , and had barely made a dent, mixed up some dawn foam (4 pumps) with about one cup of water for extra suds and after 3 passes over the surface, FINALLY...back to the surface and ready for clay!!

I realize that this is MY opinion but I remember being and I quote "absolutely astounded" when I put UQD to work for the first time as a topper, but I would say Color-X wowed me by 25% more than UQD, might be b/c of the 2 coats

to be honest though, paint still looks a little cloudy but I have not seen it in the sunlight so I think I will wait until I have some sun pics to post all of the pics...forgot a side by side b4 and after so I will try to be sure to get those whenever I move onto the doors and roof.

                Re: Quick Question About ColorX

After using ColorX on my 2002 dark red Saturn, people actually approached me in the parking lots and asked if I just had it painted or what I use on it!!
