      Re: ScratchX® 2.0 dangerous?

Well my car is not at very bad condition I dont' have any marks or very annoying swirlx but I want it to refresh it. I bought also Tech Wax 2.0 but before that I want it something to clear tha surface of my car. So my dealer suggest me to by scratchx 2.0.

Do you have any light swirl marks on your car?

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

        I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
        Remove swirls my friends.

SwirlX is the milder product, and for more general use, I would start there. Then follow it up with the Nxt 2.0.

              Re: ScratchX® 2.0 dangerous?

ScratchX 2.0 is intended to allow for isolated removal of defects such as scratches or light etching, water spots, etc.

If you simply want to clean the paint, remove light wash haze, etc, and then wax/seal it, you should go with SwirlX as it is very safe.

Hmmmmmm but I also I can not understant the diferrence between scratchX and SwirlX because both of them do the "same" job. Can I see any were any pictures of these 2 product's??

ScratchX 2.0 is a polish that is more aggressive (stronger) than SwirlX. SwirlX is a polish with less aggressive abrasives, so it will remove less paint with the same amount of work.

Not sure if you wanted pictures of the actual products, or the results, but these are the bottles:

                      Re: ScratchX® 2.0 dangerous?

                      To try another way,

                      SwirlX - Mild
                      ScratchX - Medium
                      Ultimate Compound - Strong

So, yes they all do the same thing, but it is like sandpaper, dont do stronger than you need to.

I used to use Autoglym Paint renovator years ago.Infact still have some.I found it was a very mild product. It's probably similair to original ScratchX,or SwirlX.Maybe even DC1. Had to work quite a bit with it.

                            Hey Zoikarios,

You mentioned clearing the surface before applying Tech Wax. You should also look into Meguiar's Smooth Surface Clay Kit:

This will clear the surface before waxing and it's also fun. Plus, it won't remove paint so if you don't have swirls, I think this is the best way to go. Watch this video.
