  • How to remove wax from plastic and tight spaces ?

Hello, I clayed and waxed (NXT) my car for the first time and I was suprised how easy that was. But I run into a small problem. I wentall over the places with the wax. Onto plastic parts which now have white smudges on them and between body pieces where it looks like a lot of wax stayed and don't know how to take it out. Is the a wax cleaner that u can recommend ? from plastic parts is no problem, but what about the tight spaces where wax is just pushed in ? like between bumper quarter panel or side skirt and body ?

I like to spray a Mf towel with APC+ 10:1 and clean the wax staining that way. Then dress with either Natural Shine or Supreme Shine. For the tight spaces that wax has gotten into you can use some spray detailer and whatever you can fit in there to wipe it out. I like using Detailing Stix for the most part. But even q-tips will do.

mike Phillips told me a while back to try vegetable oil..I tried it and it worked. Some use peanut butter, but it's the veg.oil in the butter that does it.

Put a little on a rag and wipe over the white stain.

Your other question...are you meaning wax stuck in crevices?

Works for me. Then again i never let the wax sit for longer than a half hour, so not sure if it'd work the same against older stains.

Old school trick that works great is a pink school eraser.

To get rid of it with things around the house try out the veg oil and ordinary pink eraser. Or you can grap an order of some Wax Blaster if you have some things you are wanting to buy. Any of these should fix the problem for you

My gripe is that some of the white residue is not obvious until the next day and sometimes seems to magically appear a week later () If you detail in the garage or late evening, the hazed wax can be hard to see when buffing off the residue. I hear some guys wash the car after the final wax to help remove polish, wax, etc.

For crevices a microfiber works great. Use a corner or edge to wipe off the wax in between body panels and other little crevices, but for smaller areas the fibers in a microfiber are actually small enough to get in there. Just fold the towel up as small as possible and use a little pressure to push those little fibers into those tiny gaps.

If its in between crack and any place that can be reached by opening a door, hood or trunk I use a q-tip dipped in denatured alcohol to remove the residue.
