  • Using M105 or 82 ?

Hi to all,my question is using about this product(105 and 82)for a brand new car,to considering the swirls and holograms, which one should l apply and prefer? I've been driving a black audi A4 for 10 months, black is a very nice color specially when you wash, but when you look closer scratches and wood resin appers clearly.Has anyone got an advice how to figure out?
    Thanks.

Well, that is comparing two very different products, #82 is very mild, and #105 is very strong.

Are those the only products you have available, able to find? Working by hand?

Very accurate. M105 is one of the most aggressive choices you have. M82 would be more like M205.

Also, M82 is a diminishing polish that breaks down during use where M105/M205 are non-diminishing polishes.

By hand, machine - how are you working?

The standard answer is to try the least aggressive product to see if it solves your problems. If you already have the products, try M82. If not, I'd recommend you get some M205 and try that first.

I have a older ('86) black Porsche that was very well maintained (by hand) but had 20 plus years of swirls & holograms that I completely removed with the M105/M205 combo using a Flex 3401 polisher.

Note that M105 acts VERY differently from the others. It appears to flash quickly, it dusts much more, and can be a challenge to get used to. Look back through some posts here and you'll find some good info on how to use.

Thank you all for your posts, i am planning to work with machine which is the most efficient. I am convinced that I should use M-82 since it is the least aggressive one. For the reason that my paintjob does not have severe scratches and swirls.

The M82 should work well for you. If that doesn't get all the scratches out, step it up to M80.

#82 is quite mild, but you can certainly do a test spot with it first. Dont do the entire car, then check results.

As mentioned above, it would be nice to have #80 before jumping all the way to #105, if it is available to you.

Odds are, M82 will up being the weapon of choice for your final pass before wax, and after something a little, to a lot more aggressive.

I absolutely love the glossy, clear finish M82 leaves behind, but even for "light swirls" it may not be the best tool. It's really best for cleaning up the light holograms or damage left from the first pass with something like M80, M83, or in some cases, M105.

Do start with M82 to test it though, and hope it works! It's a fantastic product. If it isn't quite strong enough (by a little), then try M80. If it isn't even close, you can try M83.

Just to clarify, in terms of cut/aggressiveness, it goes (least to greatest) M82 --> M80 --> M83. A little confusing, I know.
